Waking up Kansas

Welcome to my blog.  

We decided to start a blog to help keep our friends and family, both near and far, apprised of how this Kansas girl and her growing family here in Naperville, IL, are doing.  Our little family is looking forward to taking a step back from the daily grind to focus more on the experiences and adventures we get to take together over the coming years...and then chronicling them here for all to see!  

MY WORLD

But why "Waking Up Kansas"? Honestly, because Joe and I still wake up and wonder how we got "here" (as I'm sure most people do).  When did we become parents and homeowners?!?  I think I'm still processing things as a small town girl who has found herself in a different place and a different time.  Every day, new experiences and new people surprise us in good and bad ways...making us grateful for where we came from and who we've become. 

To my parents in Kansas...hopefully, you will get to see more of Charlie and Ben's daily adventures.  We miss you. A big thank you to the both of you for raising me in a small town community that continues to provide gifts and relationships that will stand the test of time.  It truly is special to come from a place where you are supported no matter how long you've been gone or how far away you move. Here's hoping we can pass along a little bit of Kansas to the little guys. (And a shout goes out to Joe's parents...here's to raising some Packer fans and instilling in them some good 'ole Wisconsin values as well!)
